Sorry about that. This is sort of a place I dump all my Mockingbird and other blog's posts to keep them all in one place.

I like your insight. I think a good "first use of the law" is certainly necessary here. One mistake I think policy makers make is that they formulate systems that work logically in themselves but never strip the analysis down to the basic building block of human bondage. Bondage is certainly not something a politician can espouse and get elected. Everyone has to be optimistic. And, certainly, the government (which is a collection of bound human beings) is no bastion of the pure and good we are looking for.

The answers are difficult but perhaps if we assume the bound will, we can harness it in some way? That's about as far as I have gotten, frankly.

Thanks for the comment. It gets a little lonely over here sometimes :-)David Browderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17114536992144774975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163186382050891320.post-6584057432811563312011-05-06T22:35:41.862-04:002011-05-06T22:35:41.862-04:00I got a little confused because that is obviously ...I got a little confused because that is obviously not a recent column that you started with. But I think the word 'Anthropology' is what I am finding more and more important as I pray the prayer that God seemingly always answers (to my great distress)..."Lord, show me myself...but not all at once because I can't take it." The idea of irretrievably fallen beings governing themselves creates a kind of Keystone Cops inevitability of effective governing gone wrong. The high anthropology seems to always pit the less bad/more good vs the less good/more bad...whereas the other places all as bad and requires an outside source of good. My guess is that the latter means policies shaped by protection from the worst of us, with humility that we simultaneously stand in their shoes(?).Mark Babikowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02134528362250230402noreply@blogger.com
